Checkpoint Charlie - Berlin, Germany
Checkpoint Charlie (or "Checkpoint C") was the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War (1947–1991), as named by the Western Allies.
East German leader Walter Ulbricht agitated and maneuvered to get the Soviet Union's permission to construct the Berlin Wall in 1961 to stop emigration and defection westward through the Border system, preventing escape across the city sector border from East Berlin into West Berlin. Checkpoint Charlie became a symbol of the Cold War, representing the separation of East and West. Soviet and American tanks briefly faced each other at the location during the Berlin Crisis of 1961.
During its 28-year active life, the infrastructure on the Eastern side was expanded to include not only the wall, watchtower and zig-zag barriers, but a multi-lane shed where cars and their occupants were checked. However, the Allied authority never erected any permanent buildings, and made do with the well-known wooden shed, which was replaced during the 1980s by a larger metal structure, now displayed at the Allied Museum in western Berlin. Their reason was that they did not consider the inner Berlin sector boundary an international border and did not treat it as such.
The principal cause of death at the border was shooting. Of the 140 fatalities, 99 (70.7%) were shot dead, not only escapees but also individuals on either side who were not attempting to escape, and East German border guards killed on duty. 101 of the fatalities were attempted border-crossers, of which all but three were East Germans (the exceptions were Franciszek Piesik and Czesław Kukuczka, Polish citizens, and Vladimir Ivanovich Odinzov, a Soviet soldier). 68 of them were killed in shootings. Another 30 people died as a result of shootings or fatal accidents sustained while in the vicinity of the Wall but not trying to cross it. Eight East German border soldiers were killed on duty by escapees, escape helpers, fellow soldiers, or the West Berlin police. What many people don't realize is, that this border was not operated under the control of Germany, this border was operated by the Allied countries namely the United States, France and Britain. So contrary to popular belief the United States, France and Great Britain received great training in how to operate a border within the confines of their own respective countries. The story about Alice in Wonderland could be seen as more believable than this nightmarish trust the People of Ireland have put into the corrupt Irish Government. Let's take a look at the last restrictions border we had in Ireland because the People of Ireland seem to have forgotten it ever existed. The Republic of Ireland–United Kingdom border, sometimes referred to as the Irish border or British-Irish border, runs for 499 km (310 mi) from Lough Foyle in the north of Ireland to Carlingford Lough in the northeast, separating the Republic of Ireland from Northern Ireland. The border was created in 1921. Customs controls were introduced on the frontier on 1 April 1923, shortly after the establishment of the Irish Free State. These controls were maintained, with varying degrees of severity, until 1 January 1993, when systematic customs checks were abolished between European Community member states as part of the single market. There are no longer any operational customs posts along either side of the border. Except during a brief period during World War II, it has never been necessary for Irish or British citizens to produce a passport to cross the border.
However during the 1970s troubles, security forces regularly asked travellers for identification. During the Troubles in Northern Ireland, there were British military checkpoints on main border crossings and UK security forces made the remaining crossings impassable. By about 2005, in phase with implementation of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement, the last remaining controls were definitively removed. The Troubles in Northern Ireland required that attempts were made from the early 1970s until the late 1990s to enforce border controls. Many smaller cross-border roads were cratered or blockaded by the British Army with the intention of making them impassable to regular traffic. Bridges were also destroyed to prevent access at unauthorised border crossings (known officially as "unapproved roads").

Countless human rights crimes are being committed by Gardai, but the Checkpoint Charlies set up across the country is the stuff of nightmares and the People of Ireland say nothing. Here's just a few human rights crimes being committed by Gardai with these Checkpoint Charlies. Do the People of Ireland even know all these rights are being broken by Gardai with these checkpoints?
1. We are all free and equal. We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We should all be treated in the same way.
4. No slavery – past and present. Nobody has any right to make us a slave. We cannot make anyone our slave.
5. No Torture. Nobody has any right to hurt us or to torture us.
9. No unfair detainment. Nobody has the right to put us in prison without a good reason and keep us there, or to send us away from our country.
12. The right to privacy. Nobody should try to harm our good name. Nobody has the right to come into our home, open our letters or bother us or our family without a good reason.
13. Freedom to move. We all have the right to go where we want in our own country and to travel as we wish.
17. Your own things. Everyone has the right to own things or share them. Nobody should take our things from us without a good reason.
18. Freedom of thought. We all have the right to believe in what we want to believe, to have a religion, or to change it if we want.
19. Free to say what you want. We all have the right to make up our own minds, to think what we like, to say what we think, and to share our ideas with other people.
20. Meet where you like. We all have the right to meet our friends and to work together in peace to defend our rights. Nobody can make us join a group if we don’t want to.
23. Workers’ rights. Every grown-up has the right to do a job, to a fair wage for their work, and to join a trade union.
24. The right to play. We all have the right to rest from work and to relax.
28. A free and fair world. There must be proper order so we can all enjoy rights and freedoms in our own country and all over the world.

When you are told lies by your government who want to destroy your human rights - you get what Ireland has experienced over the past 12 months. When a government supports your human rights - you get what is shown above with regard Florida and Sweden. These scenes above sure make the People of Ireland look like a bunch of schmucks, who put trust in their government when it was NEVER deserved throughout the history of Ireland. For the majority population it's going to take some courage to swallow the pill to acknowledge they were fooled for 12 months by their government. The alternative in not doing so is unthinkable.
